 West Vancouver is a relatively small club and the overall performance of our teams used to reflect that. More recently though, West Vancouver Teams have been doing well by any standard, with many of them at the top or near the top of their standings.
What has made the difference? Many factors perhaps, but without doubt the hiring of Jamshid (“Jammer”) Afshar (National B License) as WVSC Head Coach has resulted in a marked improvement in the overall caliber of play.
Jammer is an excellent coach in his own right, but his greatest contribution to WVSC is not so much in coaching the players himself, but in coaching coaches. He visits countless games and practices every week and he knows almost every player, coach, and manager in West Vancouver.
